Save the following dates and plan accordingly. This message will by cryptic as we try not to broadcast the details in e-mails. Please do not forward this message. If you feel someone new is appropriate for the meeting, send me e-mail. We’ll properly ask several other people as has been the practice since Clark Collins originally organized this group. It is very important to make speakers comfortable and feel they can talk frankly without risk of attribution, publication or even acknowledgement that they were there. In other words, “what meeting? You remember the idea. The meeting will be held in the usual place from Friday, January 14th through Sunday, January 16th. There will be a reception Friday night. There will be a wild game feed on Thursday night, January 13th so make your plans accordingly. Saturday night will be dinner at the same location as recent years. If you play music, please bring your instrument and perhaps ten copies of songs you like. If you don’t want to fly with an instrument, then perhaps you can borrow one. We’ll largely focus on old-time, bluegrass and country, but the agenda is open. I’ll bring my autoharp and possibly borrow a dobro. In addition, it appears very likely that we’ll have a meeting of the Grassroots ESA Coalition Thursday, January 13th, Friday, January 14th or Tuesday, January 18th. The delay is because we are awaiting confirmation of the availability of certain important speakers. Summary. We suggest you plan to arrive by January 12th if you are interested in participating in the Grassroots ESA Coalition meeting. If not, you can shorten your trip up. Remember, it is possible that meeting may be the 18th so you will want to fly out very late Tuesday or possibly even Wednesday. You will be contacted shortly with the meeting details by fax. For planning purposes, it would be helpful to hear back from you if you are planning to attend the Strategy Meeting since space is limited.
