Please be sure to send a confirmation if you are planning to come and what days you will be there for. We need to plan for meals and meeting space. Let us know as soon as you can. Please respond to [email protected]. Put “Yes, I’m coming” in the subject line. We’ve set the date for the January Leadership-Strategy Meeting. *****It begins Thursday night, January 19th running through 2:00 PM Sunday January 22nd. We may have a special event on Thursday night, so try to arrive early if you can. We will have a reception and possible Wild Game Dinner. This is not a sure thing yet. We need volunteers to help prepare the meals. Certain very special people have done this for years and can get worn down, especially if we do several food events while you are there. Let me know if you want to help. Respond to [email protected]. It’s likely we’ll have at least one special event on Friday or Saturday or possibly both. The meeting will start Friday at 10:00 AM and run until 5:00 PM. Saturday will also be 10:00 to 5:00. Sunday will be 9:00 to 2:00. Please schedule your flights accordingly as best you can. This is just to give you a heads up. I’ll send you the hotel, more schedule and other information later. Since there was a significant amount of controversy about the ESA within our ranks, the people who responded to our e-mail all urged that we add a day Friday to deal with ESA and the clash within our ranks. It seems like with ESA coming up in the Senate, we're going to need to have some frank discussions. Saturday and Sunday will then be clear for other opportunities to work together. The location will be in Virginia, probably at the same hotel as last year. Please remember, as always, this is not a public meeting. It should not be discussed outside our group. That mistake was made in a dramatic way last year and the offender will not be back. Reminder-- Neither this meeting or anything about it should be discussed outside the group. These are not my rules. We set them up as a group a long time ago. If you wish to nominate someone else to participate, pass his or her name along. We’ll go through the normal vetting process.
