Southern California ESA & Recreation Alert

Critical Recreation and Endangered Species Act event in Orange County this weekend.

We need your help. Volunteers are needed.

Please send an e-mail response immediately to ccushman@landrights.org to let us know if you can help. Look at the times below and let us know when. Include your phone and cell phone if you have one. You can call (360) 687-3087.

The House Resources Committee is expected to mark up a bill to fix the ESA next Wednesday, September 21st. This is critical to all private property owners, recreation cabin owners and off-highway vehicle users.

A Giant recreation show runs this week next to Anaheim and Costa Mesa near John Wayne Airport. It is the 7th Annual Sand Sports Super Show at the Orange County Fair and Exposition Center off highway 55.

40,0000 people are expected.

American Land Rights has been lucky enough to get a booth.
The number is 4217 in Building 17.

Why should you care?

This is a great opportunity to get people who are affected by the negative aspects of the Endangered Species Act to contact their Congressman.

“All those attending the show are impacted by the ESA at their local riding areas: Oceano has the plovers, Glamis has the Peirson's Milk-Vetch, Sand Mountain, NV has the Blue Butterfly. We ALL need the ESA fixed or we’ll be fighting each case with lots of $$$” --- Jim Colln, American Sand Association

Volunteers are needed to hand out Endangered Species Act Testimony Questionnaires to the thousands of people attending.

You will collect them. We will Federal Express them to Washington, DC to get them distributed to Congressmen.

We will be asking people to call their Congressman on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

We will also be faxing them to individual Congressmen.

Can you come and help out for a few hours? Do you know someone else who can?

The show starts at 5 pm on Friday and runs until 10 pm.

Saturday it is 9 am to 7 pm.

Sunday it is 9 am to 4 pm.

The show website is www.sandsportssupershow.com

You can get a map and directions from there.

Action Items:

-----1. Respond to us by e-mail to let us know if you can come. Include your phone number and e-mail if you have it.
