Big Names At Natural Resource Summit In Sonora Friday


People in high places will be part of the Natural Resource Summit this Friday, 
August 22nd in Sonora, California.

This is a Public event held at the Tuolumne County Fairgrounds.


ALL CITIZENS CONCERNED ABOUT YOSEMITE SHOULD BE THERE!!

Wear Yellow Ribbons To Show You Are Opposed To The Yosemite Valley Plan


This event is hosted by Congressman George Radanovich and Assemblyman Dave Cogdill.

Mark Rey – Under Secretary of Agriculture.  He is in charge of the U. S. Forest Service for the Department of Agriculture.   He’ll talk about Healthy Forests and other issues.

Jack Blackwell – Regional Forester for Region 5, U. S. Forest Service.  

George Radanovich – U. S. Congress

Dave Cogdill – California Assembly

Nancy Whittle – Cattlerancher

Marvin Penner – Supervisor of Natural Resource Management – Pacific Gas and Electric.

Phil Aune – Vice President – California Forestry Association

Dr. Thomas M. Bonnicksen – Professor of Forest Sciences – Texas A&M University.


ISSUES LIKELY TO BE CONSIDERED:

Sierra Nevada Framework – Ecosystem Plan – Forest Service – Nancy Whittle and Jack Blackwell.  Mr. Rey may be part of this discussion as well as others.

Yosemite Valley Plan – If this issue does not come up formally, you can ask questions of key speakers.  Focus the spotlight on the Yosemite Valley Plan as well as the Sierra Nevada Framework and saving your homes from fire – Forest Health.

Volunteers are urgently needed for Labor Day Weekend.  If you already responded, don’t worry.  We will call.   Please look at the dates below.  Respond back by e-mail or phone to let us know when you can participate.

This is the last chance for a big weekend rally.  It’s a great opportunity to get your information in the hands of Yosemite visitors.

This will be our big chance until next spring to show the public that 80% of the California public does not want to see campsites closed, parking shut down and families forced to ride buses in Yosemite.

Have you written your Representative and Senators opposing the Yosemite Valley Plan?  Any Congressman may be called at (202) 225-3121.  You can write him or her at:

Fax is really the best way.  Use the number above to ask for your Congressman’s fax number and fax no more than a ONE PAGE LETTER urging that funding for the Yosemite Valley Plan be rescinded.  Ask for a moratorium on all parking and campsite removal and destruction.
